Letter to Families:
Mid-September 2024
Greetings Mustang Families!
It was wonderful to see so many of our families last week at Parent Teacher Conferences. Thank you to everyone who came out to meet with our staff! Please remember, we are always available to meet with you, so feel free to reach out whenever you need.
Information for Families:
-
Attendance Challenge Week: This week, we will be holding an Attendance Challenge! As you may recall, we highlight specific weeks to challenge students to aim for perfect attendance. We’re excited to see all of our students present and proud this week!
-
Competition Cheer Tryouts: Tryouts for the Competition Cheer team will be held on Sep. 27, after school, from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Students interested in trying out should see Coach Nelson in room A223 (on the 8th-grade hall). Participants must bring a physical and a current grade report to be eligible. The team is looking for students who can tumble, cheer, and stunt!
-
LGMS Better Together Pink Out Game: Our annual Better Together Pink Out Game will take place at Porterfield Park against PHMS on Thursday, October 17th. You can order your Pink Out Shirts
-
RCA House System: Locust Grove Middle School is implementing the RCA House System to promote positive behavior and academic achievement. Through this system, students will be recognized for their accomplishments, effort, and good character. Parents or guardians will receive an email when their child is awarded positive recognition. On Monday, students will bring home a letter with access codes and instructions for parents to view their child’s points and track their progress throughout the year. This initiative is a wonderful way to foster a supportive and encouraging environment for all students.
Thank you for your continued support in making Locust Grove Middle School a great place for our students to learn and grow. We look forward to an exciting and productive week ahead! As always, feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Go Mustangs!
Respectfully,
Nick Sodano, Principal
